If you weren't already snooping around the Internet and stumbling onto these Spider-Man: Shattered Dimension screenshots from last week, then this is new to you. Activision today confirmed that the 2099 universe (if you want to know what this means, hit up Marvel for a first step) will be the third dimension that the player visits in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, in addition to the already revealed Amazing and Noir universes.

Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden designer Tomonobu Itagaki will be revealing his new game at E3 -- his first project since leaving Tecmo.

A lengthy, live-action trailer has appeared on YouTube teasing something related to Mortal Kombat. The nearly eight-minute-long teaser was uploaded by an account named "MortalKombatRebirth" yesterday, and stars Michael Jai White, Jeri Ryan, Lateef Crowder, and Matt Mullins.

With a band-themed music game -- Green Day Rock Band being no exception -- it's too easy to say "if you like the band Green Day, you'll like the game. If you hate Green Day, this probably won't change your mind." But this game presents more than just a simple Rock Band expansion with new songs. Just like The Beatles Rock Band, the featured group injects their personality into everything from the menus and in-game performances to the unlockable live concert footage. Though, also like The Beatles Rock Band, Green Day fails to try anything truly innovative. Still, developer Harmonix proves that they not only know how to craft a fine music game, they know how to pick just the right subject matter, as well.

Yakuza 3 has been a well-received, if controversial release from Sega this year. While critically acclaimed (we gave it an A-) it suffered several cuts to aspects that series fans consider integral, such as the complete loss of mahjong mini-games and an entire Hostess Club management feature. However, it seems that the series' grassroots support won out over its arguably crippled release, as Sega has confirmed that its direct sequel Yakuza 4 will see a Western release in Spring 2011 as a PS3-exclusive.

Just about the entire industry will be at E3 in a couple of weeks -- except for, evidently, Rockstar. The company has revealed that they'll be skipping E3 this year, instead deciding to show off the latest progress on Max Payne 3 and the long-in-development L.A. Noire at their own demos "in the coming weeks."

Sony already released the necessary 3D firmware update for the PlayStation 3 back in April, and now Japanese gamers will finally be able to put it to use next week. Sony has announced the first wave of 3D PS3 games will be released in Japan on June 10, including Wipeout HD, Super Stardust HD, and Pain (via GamesIndustry.biz).

EA Play and Warner Bros. Interactive will be releasing not one, but two games based on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to accompany the two movies. The first will be released this fall Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS, PC, and Mobile devices.
