Despite being released in November, Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been crowned the best selling console title for 2009 on Xbox 360 in the U.S., according to NPD's latest news release.

The research company did not provide overall unit sales numbers, however, just the title rank. Nintendo Wii accounts for six of the top 10 titles, with PlayStation 3 and Nintendo DS only having one title each. It's interesting to note that Wii Play, which was released in 2007, is still among the best selling titles two years later.
