Wondering how Mass Effect 2 is selling just three days out from its January 26 release date? If EA's internal figures are to be believed, things are going just fine over at Bioware. The publisher announced that Commander Shepard's spacefaring sequel has moved over 2 million copies this week.

Those of you cracking open your new Xbox 360 copies of Mass Effect 2 may have noticed something missing from the free day-one downloadable content. A post on the BioWare Forums (via Joystiq) explains the mercenary Zaeed (above) is unavailable for the Xbox 360, and will be coming tomorrow or Thursday instead. Zaeed is just one of several pieces of planned day-one DLC through the Cerberus Network, and the others are said to be working fine.
Mass Effect 2 DLC Hits a Snag

Mass Effect 2 is experiencing a slight delay in one of its free pieces of DLC today, as BioWare's official forum informs that mercenary Zaeed (pictured), is currently unavailable for the Xbox 360 (via Joystiq). According to the post, the other pieces of DLC should still work, and plans are to have Zaeed ready in next few days.

BioWare announced the "Cerberus Network" for Mass Effect 2 today, and in doing so made a not-so-subtle shot across the bow of retailers like GameStop. The name isn't actually new; for quite a while listings for the game have mentioned a "Cerberus Network card granting access to bonus content." But it's only today that EA and BioWare took the wraps off of what exactly the Cerberus Network is, and why it's so valuable to their strategy to combat the used game market.
